A Summer of Fences

I love the smell of flowers
And how they sway, I could stare for hours
The stems to ants must seem like towers
Oh to be so small, would be to me great power
To be lost in such a glorious city
As the rays of the sun illuminate it's beauty
Oh to be so light as to let the wind lift me
Like a dandelion's dander's flight, spastic and free
To walk in the shade of the colorful buds
To waltz with a mantis and swim in the mud
To climb their stems, like a ladybug could
And taste the dew on the leaves like anyone would
But I come to my senses, to the real world it seems
And I wonder if the flowers can see my day dream
But they silently bask in the sun's gracious beams
I am so aware of them but they may never know me
